Julie Sherman, founder
With more than ten years of experience and a strong background in fine arts, Julie Sherman brings creativity, energy, and professional design services to her clients. Since founding J Sherman Studio in August 2007, she has enjoyed the flexibility of running her own studio and getting to know her clients well. Julie holds a B.F.A. from Cornell University and a M.S. in communications management from Simmons College. Julie passionately believes in art education and is on the Advisory Council for Step Into Art, working with founder Abby Rischin on visual communications and strategic decisions.
Though she loves her work, Julie is not glued to her desk. In addition to noncommercial creative pursuits—abstract watercolor, amateur photography—she has discovered a passion for Pilates and runs her stress away (she tracked more than 400 miles in 2010). An avid traveler, she loves all things Italian and has managed to visit Italy more times than she can count on both hands.
Jennifer Feller
Jennifer Feller joined J Sherman Studio part-time in the summer of 2009, but—with Julie's encouragement—quickly became a permanent fixture. Jenny is a knowledgeable and imaginative designer with a B.F.A. in illustration from Massachusetts College of Art and Design. Jenny's professional experience includes retail, custom invitation design, and corporate graphic design. Designing for brides and grooms has equipped her to handle any client communication challenge.
Jenny enjoys bookmaking as a way to incorporate her love for design, storytelling, and appreciation for the tactile quality of paper and fibers. She loves rescuing and restoring old, discarded furniture to bring new life and beauty to old things. A strong designer, Jenny is also just plain strong—she can do six pull-ups and is a seasoned rock climber.
