With more than fifteen years of experience and a strong background in fine arts, Julie Sherman brings creativity, energy, and professional design services to her clients. Since founding J Sherman Studio in August 2007, she has enjoyed the flexibility of running her own studio and getting to know her clients well. Julie holds a B.F.A. from Cornell University and a M.S. in communications management from Simmons College. Julie passionately believes in art education and is on the Advisory Council for Step Into Art, working with founder Abby Rischin on visual communications and strategic decisions.
Though she loves her work, Julie tries not to always be glued to her computer screen. In addition to noncommercial creative pursuits—abstract watercolor, amateur photography—she has discovered a passion for Pilates and kettlebells. An avid traveler, she loves all things Italian and has managed to visit Italy more times than she can count on both hands. She is also enjoying the adventures of parenthood and can most often be found playing silly games with her two adorable children.
Jenny Feller joined J Sherman Studio part-time in the summer of 2009, but—with Julie's encouragement—quickly became a permanent fixture. Jenny is a knowledgeable and imaginative designer with a B.F.A. in illustration from Massachusetts College of Art and Design. Jenny's professional experience includes retail, custom invitation design, and corporate graphic design. Designing for brides and grooms has equipped her to handle any client communication challenge.
Jenny enjoys bookmaking as a way to incorporate her love for design, storytelling, and appreciation for the tactile quality of paper and fibers. She loves rescuing and restoring old, discarded furniture to bring new life and beauty to old things. A strong designer, Jenny is also just plain strong—she can do ten pull-ups and is a seasoned rock climber.
Christina Gleason joined J Sherman Studio in May 2014. Tina is a talented designer with a keen eye for detail and a deep appreciation for good typography. Tina holds a Bachelors of Science in English from SUNY Brockport and has studied at MassArt and New England School of Art and Design. Tina’s experience working as a designer in academic publishing has prepared her well for our content-rich projects.
Tina is also the design consultant for the popular and delightfully nerdy XKCD team. She recently completed the design and layout for the book of their companion blog, “What if?,” which hit #1 on both Amazon and The New York Times best sellers list!
When Tina is not at the Studio she can be found either working on her own independent design projects, playing with her cats Coriander and Paprika, cooking something crazy awesome in her kitchen, knitting something cozy, or trying out a vibrant new hair color.
AJ Rebecchi joined the Studio in July 2016 in the hybrid role of assistant business manager and designer. AJ holds a BFA in illustration from the Savannah College of Art and Design. AJ works closely with Julie on all things business related from invoices to project management in addition to lending his keen eye to our design projects. AJ’s experience as a manager for Apple has sharpened his technical skill set and provided him with the customer service of a saint. AJ’s design and illustration has been shown and featured in The Attic in Indianapolis, OneClub in New York, and in the Savannah College of Art and Design’s alumni collection in Tokyo.
AJ brings fresh energy and new skills to the Studio with his illustration and photography work. While trained in “traditional” illustration methods and techniques, he has a passion for digital illustration, vector design, and mixed media. Additionally, he has become enamored with both photography and videography and can be found shooting portrait sessions, weddings, or street photography on the weekends.
When AJ is not working at the Studio he can be found hiking with his dog Brady, or trying new local restaurants with his girlfriend Hannah. He loves trivia, tattoo culture & artistry, and traveling.
